I don't need to dig a little to route midi and USB like you do in Bitwig. I don't need to look up a script for the APC 40 to use it with Ableton. There are also many additional benefits to using able as well such as the sheer fact that because of it's universal acceptance, hardware, controllers etc. Also, organizing your own samples is so much easier and more organized in Ableton than Bitwig. The time you spend making a device, I've already made an entire life set in Ableton.
"But just make your own in Bitwig." I've got a better idea, how about no. Also, the audio effects, utilities in Ableton are objectively better. In Ableton, it's so easily found because the DAW is organized. Finding the right audio device in Bitwig is annoying. One thing that I know impedes my workflow in Bitwig compared to Ableton is how absolute unorganized Bitwig is when it comes to finding devices and sounds. Spend the time, learn the damn thing properly, it’s ableton on steroids at a minimum, and is the most advanced and stable DAW on the market atm.ĭifferent impedes workflow. It's built in devices and synths are pretty nice sounding and the fact that it doesn't crashes when a plugin does is a huge advantage! It is a great piece of software but more for "inside the box" users and less for external hardware fans.Bitwig is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) for Mac, Windows, and Linux. This can be a huge pain if you have a library of chopped loops all saved as. Bitwig offers loop chopping into different devices or racks just like ableton live except it does not read. I would prefer to have a midi channel like in ableton live. You have a translator device called hardware instrument which when put on an instrument track produces a midi output. You may argue that it has midi tracks, but no, they are called instrument tracks and are not midi compatible as the developers chosen higher resolution for the timing among other improvements. As it is pretty new and it is a new concept of daw it has also some shortcomings: no midi tracks for use with external midi gear. Bitwig Studio is the best alternative to ableton live and has some advantages over it.
